DecentralFreight isn't a startup chasing a trend. It's a direct response to a broken system — one that takes tens of billions of dollars a year from the people actually doing the work.
01 — The Problem We Saw
Freight brokers sit in the middle of every load. They find the shipper, they find the carrier, they negotiate both sides — and they never have to show either party what they're making in the middle. A broker might take $800 on a $2,000 load and nobody would ever know. That's 40%.
In most industries, a middleman who controls the flow of money is at least subject to disclosure requirements. In freight brokerage, there are none that matter. The numbers are concealed by design, and both the shipper and the carrier are left guessing.
02 — The Idea
That's the question DecentralFreight was built to answer. When transactions happen on a public blockchain, there's nothing to hide. The shipper posts a load, the carrier places a bid, the rate is agreed on — and every cent is accounted for, on-chain, visible to anyone.
There's no broker in the middle collecting a hidden margin. There's a 5% platform fee, paid by the carrier, publicly visible in the smart contract code. That's it. Everybody sees it. It's baked into the math, not hidden in a phone call.
03 — Our Values
Every fee is on-chain. Our smart contract is open source. Anyone can verify exactly how the money moves — before they trust us with a dollar.
Truckers do the hardest part of this industry. They shouldn't have to factor their invoices or wait 30 days to get paid for work they already completed.
Shippers and carriers work together directly. They see each other's ratings, they communicate, they build trust. That's how good freight relationships form.
We don't ask you to trust us. The smart contract holds the escrow. The rules are written in code, visible to everyone. If conditions are met, funds release. No exceptions, no delays.
04 — Where We're Headed
We're not trying to onboard everyone on day one. We're building a vetted network of carriers and shippers who want to do business differently. That means verified DOT numbers, verified insurance, verified wallets — and a platform that actually works before we scale it.
The dApp is live on Base Sepolia testnet today. We've worked out the contract mechanics, the payment flows, the dispute process, and the delivery lifecycle. What's left is the launch — and the community of people who are ready to use it.
